Adobe announced a new application called Catalyst, which is a Flex based IDE that allows designer to design or modify UI (user interface) easily. Basically, it’s birth is for designers and developers to work together efficiently. (We all know that Flex is not easy to modify UI.) This application could create MXML for designers.

I think Adobe is a bit like Apple now that it’s killing it’s own products! My thought is Catalyst will kill Flex eventually in a good way. Wondering if this kind of revolution will affect Flash. Flash is still good for delicate animation and better user experiences.

近來小妹我偶爾會上 NY times 看看新聞關心經濟狀況及大選 。

NY times 自從經濟大崩盤後就開始有很多的 Data Visualization 的互動圖表及類似 micro site 的簡介，非常的用心及思慮周密。像這次大選，他們製作專案來報導即時選情，可用地圖或是用數據的方式觀看，還可用不同年度來作選情的對照，非常清楚。選後還將候選人的感言運用flash cue points 的手法將文字及影片結合的非常好，這在台灣是非常少見的。總覺得台灣在這方面的想法不夠前衛，反而是追八卦的手法比較前衛，可惜啊！
